The secretary-general of the United Nations, ban Ki-moon, Monday voiced sadness over the deaths of two senior Guatemalan officials.
The Interior Minister Vinicio Gómez and Vice-Minister Edgar Hernández of Guatamala were killed in a helicopter crash last week.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mr. Ban offered his condolences to the Central American nation’s Government, people and the victims’ families.
Ban expressed his condolences “both personally and for the important work they were doing at the head of the Ministry.”
